Hello and thank you for checking out my website! My name is Michael Tellman and I was born and raised in Indianapolis, Indiana. While I've always had a passion for art, I never planned to pursue it full-time. During my time at Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory School I was awarded Artist of the Year award for a ceramic vase and bowl I made, which is now on permanent display at the school. I attended Creighton University and majored in Biology. During my Junior year I took metal sculptureas an elective class. Long story short, I fell in love with it. I typically work with cold-formed stainless steel round bar, but plan to expand my medium to plate, aluminum, and glass. In the summer of 2017 I had 3 of my large pieces on display at the City Market in downtown Indianapolis. Two of those pieces recently received an award, Ataraxia I and Unknown Molecule, and got accepted into an exhibition at
the Indianapolis Art Center in early 2018. Ataraxia I the Sutton Garten Award for best in sculpture.
I am working on commission pieces throughout the Indianapolis area. If you are local and have something in mind you would like me to make, please contact me via e-mail. I will connect with you and build a maquette (desk-sized model) for you for free. If that is approved, full-size and price will then be discussed. I currently work out of Ruckus in Indianapolis, Indiana.

I want to give a special thanks to my professor and mentor throughout this entire process, Little Alston. He has inspired me, pushed me, helped me develop my own style, shown me my strengths, and showed me my weaknesses. This official project of mine, everything you see here, all roots back to you Professor Alston. I will only grow and improve from here. Thank you!!

As for my photography, I do sell my photos and have been published. I primarily use a metallic paper for most of my prints, but there are some exceptions depending on the subject. I create custom "float frames" for my photos which lifts them off the wall with an edge-less design so they appear to be floating. Hand-made framed photo's available upon request. General pricing can be seen on the Order Page

I am currently a D24 dental student at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine. While my full sculpture work has been put on hold until I graduate, I have begun making custom jewelry in my apartment to keep feeding my artistic side. I am still designing sculptures to work on once I graduate and will definitely open my studio back up. I will start to update my website here and there as I find time.
